One Point Wellness offers Acupuncture, Acupressure, and Qigong Healing sessions. Most patients receive Acupuncture which yields little or no discomfort. If patients are particularly sensitive to needles (especially children), I can always do Acupressure, Qigong, and/or Herbal Therapy. You and your family's comfort is the primary concern.
Acupuncture needles are fine, sterile, stainless steel healing instruments. They are about the size of a cat's whisker. Needles are never reused, so the treatment is extremely safe and clean.
According to Chinese Medicine every person has a series of meridians or pathways that run through their bodies. These meridians essentially translate to the arteries, veins, nervous system, and lymphatic system. Each meridian contains multiple Acupuncture points. The stimulation of these points activates the body's immune system which creates increased circulation, pain reduction, and systemic balance. These Acupuncture points are used to affect specific or general areas, functions, and organs in our bodies. Acupuncture can literally regulate our physiology. MRIs have shown this to be the case.
My favorite analogy for Acupuncture is to consider the body like an electrical system or a plumbing system. If there's a short, we fix the short so electricity flows. If there's a clog, we remove the clog so everything flows. The concept is simple, common-sense, powerful, natural, and...it works!
Acupuncture has proven effective in the treatment of these conditions: Addiction (smoking, alcohol, drugs, food, etc.), allergies/immune disorders, anxiety/stress, arthritis, asthma, digestive disorders, fatigue, fibromyalgia, headaches, impotence, insomnia, menopause, menstrual disorders, pain (back, neck, shoulder, knee, hip, etc.), children's health (including concussions), respiratory conditions (asthma, COPD, etc.), weight loss, and more. Having said that, please remember, I'm treating you...not your disease...not your symptoms...you. That is why this medicine is so effective.
I practice many styles of Acupuncture including Master Tung's Acupuncture, Dr. Tan's Acupuncture, Five Element Acupuncture, Japanese Acupuncture, Auricular Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Acupuncture.
